A simple guide for everyday people

A good starting point is half your body weight in ounces each day. So if you weigh 160 pounds aim for about 80 ounces of fluid daily.

Not sure where to start? Simply aim for 6 to 8 glasses a day and increase a little when it is warm outside or you are moving your body.

And remember, it does not all have to be plain water. Every sip counts.

Easy ways to stay hydrated beyond plain water

·       Coconut water — naturally rich in electrolytes

·       Herbal teas — peppermint or chamomile are fully hydrating and caffeine free

·       Fruits and vegetables — yes they count too

·       Milk — actually more hydrating than water

·       Coffee and tea — they count toward your daily total
